Claimed ranges are govt.-mandated combined city-highway figures, rather like gas mileage numbers are. However, unlike gas mileage which is far better on highways, electric car range is better in city driving. So what you've said is like someone getting 22mpg in city driving and wailing "Hey, they claimed 35!"

We've yet to see what EV depreciation will be in the long run. A couple of years ago it was far lower; now it's risen a lot; where it will be in three, five or eight years can't be said. Consumer preferences are difficult to predict and the dust hasn't settled yet.

1) The makers are forced by govts to give combined city-highway range. (Similar to what ICE car makers must do for gas mileage.) 2) Results here would've been closer to advertised ranges if it were a combined city-highway test. Unlike gas mileage figures, EV ranges are better in the city.

@GT86crazy So you just strengthened the country that wants to destroy your civilization. Wise move. Way to go.👏👏

@GT86crazy Hey, are you that guy that was in St. Pancras' Station in London last month who went after the piano player, causing an international incident? You sound like him! You really do!

EV range is lower on highways. It's the opposite of ICE car fuel mileage. So really this test was like checking the fuel mileage of ICE cars via an all-city-driving test. In such a case an official rating of, say, 38mpg would not have been borne out, since it combined, say, 28mpg city and 48 highway.
