There's only one hope as far as I can tell: As long as it's fully functional a few months ahead of any others, the first alien-grade or god-level AGI may elect or be instructed to stop all those other AGI instantiations from coming into existence. If it does attempt this, and succeeds, and it's not owned by the Chinese or Russian govts. or a supervillain, and if it's as well-disposed towards humans as a typical Yellow Labrador, then we're laughing.
