You can guess the feelings of the guy in the beige leather jacket just by his semi-Xi haircut. In fact, the way he stands so stiffly with his arms tight to his sides reminds me of how Xi himself stands in parades, sticking up in the same comical way through the hole in the roof of his extra-small limousine. Then our friend opens his mouth to speak and removes all doubt.

@jujuria13 No, Americans have a real and profound horror of totalitarian rule anywhere on Earth. It is not for show. The US could deal with China being much more rich and powerful than itself—but only if China had respect for its own people. If it did, and if Taiwan voted to merge with mainland China, it would only wish the combined nation well. Conversely, no one can deal with any totalitarian state, no matter how small and weak. North Korea is an example, small and weak but so dedicated to suppression of the human spirit that it will do anything to preserve that suppression.

Why have only about 10% of your subscribers watched this? Why did only about 3% of those who watched it give it a like? Wtf? One like per 200 subsrcibers.

But Afghans were not discarded by the US. The US was discarded by them. Afghans didn't want freedoms. So how can the US or anyone impose freedom on them? Like many peoples, alas, around the world, most Afghans are simply born to be ruled. From what I gather most Mainland Chinese want nothing more than to live forever under their strict Dad, Xi, and never attain adulthood, but remain boys and girls until they die. There, now the nail has been hit on its head.

@someguyfromarcticfreezer6854 Not a bad take on it at all, but I have a somewhat different view. You're spot on about never intending to completely conquer Afghanistan, and about bin Laden, but the point was also to say to Afghanistan and the world "If you host terrorism schools and their graduates move on and try out their new skills on the West, you will get some very unpleasant guests indeed, who will make themselves at home for a full generation."
