@sambocap I'm guessing you're somewhere you have to ask the nurses for permission to use the internet. I'm in a Canadian metropolis. I last had an x-ray 14 months ago. The doctor said "Let's get an x-ray" and it happened 20 minutes later. I really hope the nurses are nice to you.

Please correct your figure for "waiting time in the emergency department." It is for admission afterwards to a ward in the hospital, should the ailment not be resolved in the ED. It is not the waiting time to see a doctor in the ED itself. For that, the average according to the HQO report of late 2022 is 2.2 hours.

It's a ghost of what it was. The number of university degrees granted, especially graduate degrees, skyrocketed in the past 30 years, but the prevalence of really educated people in the workforce dwindled horribly. PhDs are like German mark banknotes in 1923. Kingsley Amis' famous prediction about higher education has alas come true with a vengeance: "More will mean worse."

@HiradHimself It was about 7pm Christmas Eve 2022. I had taken a spill downtown on snowy pavement. It was just an x-ray, man, not an MRI. You can always get an x-ray done. Anyway, thanks for your reply and I hope you do well in that universe of the mind you apparently inhabit alone.

@sambocap It's a ubiquitous, common and cheap procedure all over the world in places rich and poor, that's all. I can't imagine waiting six months to get one in the poorest part of Africa. It's a stretch to believe that anyone would have to wait even six hours to get one in Canada...except in the case of a major disaster if a small hospital were swamped with a massive number of injured people all at once.
