@les0101s Thanks, I missed that. I just heard the word bail and then saw the prosecutor commenting that the guy was a danger to the community, so in the context I took it as a reference to denial of bail. Possibly the judge assumed $5m was a prohibitive amount, but that would still be strange. I mean, what if the guy suddenly came up with the $5m? Perplexing.

@les0101s What sort of bail bond outfit would really take a $4.5 million gamble on this guy? He obviously has zero self-control and with the evidence against him is the worst flight risk of all time. I had in mind more like a $5 million secret stash of savings. Not that it seems possible: If he had that, he likely would have accepted his wife's desire to leave him with equanimity.

@feralLove Nonsense. No one is raised to believe that in our society. (I can't say one way or another about the man in the video. I suspect he was raised in Asia.) Your claim is so utterly and flagrantly untrue, so detached from actuality, that I can't even imagine you honestly believe it yourself. Whether you do or not, you have a problem there. We have people like you to thank for Tate because you and your ilk created him. Otherwise we'd be all be spared. @TedEhioghae I watched a Hiking With Kevin Nealon video recently and his guest happened to be Sarah Silverman. It went well enough, I guess, until he used the word comedienne. It was in the context of praising Silverman in the most lavish and generous terms, moreover in the precise context of her status as a woman in the comedy business and a venerated idol of young women making their name in it. It really was a solid gold tribute. Not to put too fine a point on it, she practically bit his great big head off for daring to use such a term, which according to her was an enormous insult, a belittling of her as "something less than," to quote her locution. She went on for a while, and in my opinion made herself look very small in her own effort to belittle him. My point is that if you're trying to communicate unctuous respect with your would-be correction, I doubt you should bother. All too often it seems they don't want respect, but rather something on a higher tier altogether: trembling and uncertain submission.

(1) Why did it take 3 years for "City Hall" to direct police to do this? Vote them out! (2) What's with the cop asking the thief's consent to remove the stolen goods from her vehicle? That's mad! (3) How can that thief ask "Why are you doing this?" She stole a mattress! (4) What will the US be like in 10-15 years? Twice as bad, I expect, meaning it'll be one of the worst countries in the world!
