Canada: "Sorry for sending you David Frum. Really, really sorry. Also for sending you Margaret Atwood and Celine Dion. Please try to focus on Mike Myers, Norm Macdonald and that guy who invented basketball. Again, totally f-in sorry."

Quite right. Tell people they can attain moral virtue via attacking and abusing other people and the world will beat a path to your door. "Here's a sword and here's how you can improve the world by using it on people. You in?" "Of course I'm in. I'm a very good person. Gimme that thing!"

Their reaction came out of the fear that comes with guilt and styoopidity. What goes through their heads is "What I'm doing here is bad and I'm doing it for bad reasons. But my side wins if I do it. Now along comes this question which, although I don't grasp all its implications because I'm too dull for that, can't be trusted. It must be some kind of trick. I'm tricky, I do things for bad reasons; therefore this is probably the same sort of thing." Liars always think everybody lies all the time, etc.

1) Cuz when you're more or less nothing, 2) lacking much merit of any sort at all, 3) you're desperate for the stuff, 4) and will spend whatever you've got on getting some. 5) But because of 1) and 2), your half-assed efforts at judiciously accomplishing 4) are going to amount to ca-ca. And then you'll dust off your hands saying, "Whew. I'm so glad I'm a great person now."

"I don't know what the f--- this Substack Notes thing is." In the next breath: "It's not a competitor to Twitter in the least. [That's] absurd." 🙄 Uh, okay. 🙄 But: "Substack is getting a new tweet-like feature called “Notes,” the company announced on Wednesday. The feature will let users publish small posts about things like “posts, quotes, comments, images, and links,” according to a blog post from Substack co-founders Chris Best [et al]." —The Verge, April 5. Quacks like a duck. Twitter rival, plain and simple.

Liberalism always had threads of snobbery running through it. Then cables. Now it's a steel frame and the edifice they've built out of it is taller than the Burj Dubai.

I wonder whom AGI is going to target for elimination first, once it's so fast it's like us talking to a tree.
