Do you pay personal income tax on the $100k (around $30k in tax)? No. Or say instead the stocks you own rise in value. Same thing: no. And that's the system you say is to blame. You're talking about personal tax on unrealized capital gains. If you were in charge and you changed this, about a hundred million people would come after you with pitchforks, my friend.
