  2. 4:10 Really? "Gold has been around for tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of years as an asset for people"? That's hyperbole, or just ignorance. Metal mining and smelting are only several thousand years old, and even humankind itself doesn't quite date back 200k years. Why not just say 'thousands and thousands of years', instead of reaching like that?

And I don't want him to say "space" every two minutes. I also saw him in another video from a few weeks ago say that Mark Carney was at the ECB. (He never was, of course. He was governor of the Bank of England.) I know he's an experienced insider, but I trust him less and less and am nearly ready to drop him from my watch list.

  5. Warning lights flashed when the guest called the 2020 rise "artificial." That's a sloppy and naïve use of a word that seldom applies to financial or commodity markets. He was looking for temporary, passing, or ephemeral, Even natural would still be a more correct word for it than artificial. Artificial should be reserved for price swings owing to things (including intentional market manipulation) which do not reflect underlying supply and demand. The pandemic and the monetary response to it legitimately affected the demand for gold.

  7. In any market, it doesn't necessarily take the sale of very much to move the price a lot, higher or lower. High volatility on thin trading is common.
