  20. Cops have a way of dealing with the worst ones like this in an indirect way. When she's put into the jail population they can just give a discreet nod to an extremely violent prisoner, thereby granting them informal permission to do what they do best, namely commit an assault for the sheer enjoyment of it. They then beat up the new prisoner the first good chance they get.😄

  24. Female privilege, plain and simple. Our society teaches that women are solid gold and men are far below them. On the other hand, a year in pre-trial custody, not so much. That's pretty serious. On the other, other hand, I'm sure there's female privilege in the women's prison system too.

  26. Seems to me there's a real chance someone else was driving the car initially. Say, her male companion who had serious arrest warrants or a long record. By fleeing the stop he would've had the chance to persuade her to let him hop out, take the beef instead of him, and, by leading the cops on a further chase, buy him time to run/walk away to safety. He might have told her that it would be, say, ten years for him, but zero jail for her. To me, her zero-defiance dejection afterwards is a sign.
