  2. From the standpoint of a traumatized person, unhealthy choices are rational responses to the challenges of life. Until you realize that, you're blind on the subject. Full-on serial sexual abuse orchestrated by one's mother from the age of four is rather more than "a difficult upbringing." Breathtaking lack of vision on your part.
