  1. She's not entitled to automatic support. This isn't some private company, it's the police force, and its proper primary loyalty is to the law and the department regulations, not fellow officers. Before he (or whoever else's job it is to review citizen complaints) has looked at her bodycam footage, he must receive a citizen's complaint neutrally. Plenty of time later to slap the guy with the maximum fine when the video backs up her side of the story. He would deserve a reprimand if he took the guy's side after reviewing the footage, but that review came at some later point.

  2.  @maggie960-f2n  I don't see what her sex has to do with it. He tried to intimidate both cops, treating the lower-ranking one somewhat worse. Tell it to your TA.

  3.  @blacktomato9581  I agree. It's proper to take a complaint in a polite and even-handed way even if you strongly suspect it's phony. There's plenty of time to reject it firmly (or even indignantly) after taking a look at the bodycam video. Due process. (On the other hand, there's a fine line between kind, understanding, polite, etc. and kissing the butt of some 'VIP'. He did come pretty close to that line.)
