It was apt of you to say mythology. As the parade in the video accurately hints, Germany at that time actually did still have strong strains of feudalism remaining in its culture. It had one foot mentally in the Middle Ages, and myth fed into that in a major way. The conscious aim of the Allied occupiers was to root out feudalism for good. They considered it a deeper problem than Nazism in some ways, despite denazification being their proximal task.

@CerebralThinking I can tell that you don't know that a scruple is by definition a pretty trifling point of morality. You could call it a moral hangup; at any rate to break one's scruples has always been regarded as an act less severe than sin.
