@TurdFurgeson571 This amounts to saying "You know what they meant!" To which my reply is: Well, I know what they said. And there should be no difference between what is said and what is meant. "Charges are pending" is the standard idiom when there's no question that some will be laid. Aside from that, my reason for not making the assumption which you did is the fact that four juveniles are involved. Considering the state of the American justice system, I find no reason to automatically assume that prosecutors are interested in charging 16- and 17-year-olds who tried and failed to steal cars.

@TurdFurgeson571 By the way, when talking about reluctance to prosecute flagrant crimes, I forgot to instance the Columbia University rioters who broke into Hamilton Hall and smashed everything they could with hammers. That was certainly on the same order of magnitude as this half-million dollars of damage. And what happened? When police finally made arrests after an unconscionable delay, and lower-level officials laid charges....DA Alvin Bragg came along and dropped almost all of them. So away with your accusations of cynicism, bias ("admitted," no less😂) and all the rest.

@arribaficationwineho32 You misunderstood that guy. When he said "We all need to calm down" I'm pretty sure he was criticizing the driver, not the people criticizing her. He was pointing out how she didn't control herself. But after you (erroneously) shot back at him, he was a mega je rk to you.
