How do the French people feel? Do they think it is important to help the Ukrainian forces by supplying them? Are they willing to do with less Russian oil and gas?

It didn't sink. It's engaged in a Special Undersea Exploration Operation.

Bill Maher likened him to Hilter (sp.) on the show Friday night. Seriously. Check the clips.

Very nice to hear. I get so steamed whenever I think of that video I saw: a squad of uniformed Aussie police pepper-spraying a little girl in the face for not having a mask on. Scandalous and brutal are words far too mild for it.

@R.S.4672 It's like stepping through a cow pasture.

Yes, let me back you up on that. The snow and cold present a real barrier to biking only perhaps two to four weeks a year in total. But people abroad shouldn't get the wrong impression; only a minority of Canadians deal with -20C temperatures very often at all. A more typical Canadian in winter sees the daytime temp rise to somewhere between, say, 3C and ten degrees below, as by far most Canadians inhabit the more temperate parts of the country.

@Spawn303 "Canada stays out of it." Yeah? Like Afghanistan? Thirteen years, 40,000 served, thousands of casualties, $20 billion spent, all to back up our American friends who had been wronged so badly. Canada was there barely a month after 9/11, its best commandoes picking off Al-Qaedas and Talibani. Or maybe you mean the First Gulf War? Or all the other times we made war against the same people the Americans did? You're probably thinking of Vietnam and Iraq, which we indeed did stay out of. No apologies there, buddy. With Iraq you simply disgraced yourselves.

The guy is a smiling criminal, liar, and hypocrite and he is destroying his country. To think I was actually mildly glad when he won in 2015 against Harper (even though I couldn't bring myself to go to the polls). How brutally mistaken I was. Oh well, live and learn.

'Messing with China'? If China can't handle criticism, it should withdraw from the world. Otherwise it's just a big baby.
2
Censorship in the US and EU? We don't need any lessons in censorship from the likes of you. Thanks, though.
2
@STHFGDBY If I "knew otherwise" or knew either way, would I ask? Would I not, as my contribution, just assert what I knew? Frankly I am wondering how they feel in comparison to the rest of Western Europe—the British, Germans and Italians especially—but thought it less useful to ask directly.

If Ukraine's direct opponent in this war were not Russia but Belarus, surely NATO would have swiftly walloped it. Such an action, moreover, would be rather likely to unseat Lukashenko for good, and pro-Europeans might form a new government. Thus he must be in sheer terror of being coerced by Putin into sending his forces across the border. I say he ought to do it! Ukraine might soon have one less enemy and one more ally.

@randall2020 Slow night?
2
@elizabethclover4 You tell him, Elizabeth!
2
@randall2020 It's too late for you to get a clue.

I too heard about the unfortunate necessity for major avionics alterations (a couple of weeks ago). Thanks for the explication.
2
Start with ravaging the emplacements, armour and trucks dotted around Mariupol. Destroy 'em.
2
I think what's probably going on are revenge killings by Russian troops in response to civilians picking off Russians by the hundreds in occupied territories. Every second building has a Ukrainian with a light or heavy weapon in one of its windows or doorways. Don't enter Ukraine without an invitation.

Why didn't the Remainers outvote them?
1
Can you?

She calls Trump "a purely American phenomenon." But I think it's worth throwing in that all four of his grandparents and his mother grew up poor European villagers. And his wife grew up in a Slovenian town of a few thousand people. His mother was from the Outer Hebrides (!) off northern Scotland; his father's parents came of age in Bavaria.

@ladybug5859 Hmm? What? I think your reply was meant for someone else. :)

@SB-ok3xc Email the Kremlin with that message. Or just write it on a piece of paper and drop it off on your way in tomorrow morning.

Where do they line up by the millions to get in? How many millions of Americans and other Westerners live in China? How many tens of millions of Chinese live enjoying respect, comfort, and prosperity in the West? How many Westerners go to Chinese universities? Come on, answer me.
1
@shuangshuangzhao8729 Finally, English is one of the easiest languages on Earth to learn. This is not my opinion, it is a fact affirmed by all linguists. It is, however, very difficult for anyone to master (native speakers unfortunately included!). All the best.

No, He opposes murder. You didn't know that?

Ladies and gentlemen, the Ribbentrop of 2022. (Except Ribbentrop's suits fitted him properly. This one, you could send a Javelin down the gap between his neck and his collar. In fact, someone should.)
1
Wtf is that supposed to mean? Are you usually so insulting when doling out praise? Y'know, Americans thinking they're so great is actually the source of all their serious problems, of which they have an incredible number. America, staring in the mirror generation after generation: "Heh, heh. You handsome devil. You're just the handsomest. I love you."
1
@wulf7463 Not after setting things straight. How you doin'?
1
Kelvynn Lee Thanks for your reply. It seems to me each is still treating the other mostly as an opponent rather than an enemy. I'd be delighted to know what you mean if you see it differently . Cheers.
1
Kelvynn Lee To be more frank, I don't know what you mean. All the best.
1
Kelvynn Lee I agree it's best not to be enemies, if that's what you mean. (You actually don't even come close to saying that!)
1
Kelvynn Lee Thanks for your reply, but... Wait, what? Would you please explain what you mean? The US does a lot of business with China. And when you say China, who is China anyway? The government? The CPC? Who agrees with that?---only a lot of indoctrinated hicks (for 70 years!) whose grandparents couldn't read or write, because literate people were sent to rot and die somewhere. Can they represent China if China cannot get rid of them? The CPC might say the US Congress is the political wing of the Strategic Air Command. You might agree. But it isn't: Definitely not yet and definitely not for a few generations to come. Please think things through, my friend with the very HK name. (Nice English. Sorry I can't answer in Cantonese or Mandarin. I know, lame.) Best wishes.

Which Hong Kongers want to live in mainland China? Nobody. Ask yourself why.

This fact is rarely mentioned. The impression always given off is that electrified transportation doesn't create carbon dioxide or other forms of pollution. How did people become less adept at facing reality? And so obsessed with obeying popular sentiments at the cost of standing up for good sense? What is making them so cowardly and weak-minded? Western society has become deeply depressing, boring, bad-mannered, awkward, empty, stupid, and charmless. This is now very off-topic, but even good looks have collapsed. People have become ugly and fat. Where are the gorgeous and well-built people who used to be quite common? Oh well, maybe bicycling will help a bit.
1
@mashcomments Très bien. Will that be for much longer? Germany does not plan to replace its old plants when they get too old, as I understand it. And France?
1
Mainland China is a rogue province. It will surely soon collapse and fall under Kuomintang rule. Vive Taiwan!
1
@Gr8putin Keep running your mouth, Pootybot. You only draw the West closer together. Hey, why don't you go on Austrian and Irish social media? NATO could use yet more members.
1
@thekaiser4333 That is your belief.
1
Crimea river, bot.

"It's physical work, but it brings great satisfaction." What? Where's the sense in "but"? I find her a typical hipster in her casual condescension towards the dignified and invaluable work of the hands that actually makes human life possible on this earth. She'd be at home anywhere in the West with her unthinking left snobbery.
1
Look, Mr. Herbert [the commentator appearing here], stop beginning your sentences with "Look." If you have something worthwhile to say, we will see it, but we will not be convinced of anything simply because you issue us a command to do so. Telling people to "Look" repeatedly is rude. Like "Listen", it's a way of talking down to someone and showing your impatience. Look, I've had enough. And I'm sure I cannot be alone.
1
But if "Russia can just sell its oil to other countries" then, equally, France can buy its oil from other countries. How is oil one big market for the sellers but not for buyers?
1
@Driziationz I can see how Arabian oil would perhaps cost more to ship, but am unclear about carbon footprint. The way you say it, it sounds like it is a cause of a higher price, rather than both it and the higher price being effects of shipping over a longer distance.
1
Don't listen to that turkey who called you deluded. His mother says sorry, and she's nice.
1
I'm confused. A terrific source, an Australian military economics specialist, said that the Pentagon totally walked back this disclosure within a day or so. Has what we see in this video been amply confirmed and not withdrawn? Please reply so I know if I can celebrate or not.
1
So did some of our artillery this week— at last! (Trudeau is a real champion foot-dragger on this stuff. He's probably worried about China being irritated with him.)
1
Quite true and apropos.
1
India is part of a formal military alliance with the United States. You appear to be counting on people not knowing that, nor the fact that the latest IPSOS poll of Indians shows a surge of support for Ukraine and dismay with Russia. Support for the strongest possible sanctions against Russia, for curtailment of purchases of Russian oil even if it means sharply higher prices, and for military aid to Ukraine have all reached nearly 50%.

Midgets in conversation.
