  1. Maybe it's just to do with being over 35, but I really have a hard time with how the young have decided to suddenly change the way they pronounce the letter 'u'. There are four ways to say it, as in these words: use, dune, pull, and sun. Each of course has its place. But millennials have started messing with the distinctions, for some odd reason. 'Mulitply' and 'result' are the most common cases. Suddenly they say the 'u' sound in these words not as in 'sun' but as in 'pull'. How odd it is for people to learn a word and then one day say "I really must now start saying this word differently. I believe I'll find that satisfying." I find it mindless, loathsome trendiness probably amounting to identity-building and herd-following for those in search of an identity and a herd.
