  17. Some divorced mothers whose children live with them turn their children against their fathers, sometimes deliberately. (Sometimes the attempt is successful, sometimes not.) As a child of divorced parents, I can tell you at firsthand that it happens. There are reports that Justine (Musk or Wilson, I've heard both) has done this. I do know that she has slammed Elon Musk publicly in the past, something that probably has made it harder for their six children to maintain healthy relationships with their father. I would refrain from taking sides, especially if it's just out of partisan political feelings which really have to do with the upcoming election. You don't know. EDIT: In my middle paragraph I was referring to the Marie Claire magazine article.

As for conservative "hysteria," liberals have no need to be "hysterical" simply because they've already excluded what they view as not-liberal-enough books from the curricula and libraries for a long time. This they arrogantly assume is their natural right. And of course it is, from their point of view that they are by an enormous margin the most morally and intellectually enlightened people of all time — indeed the first and only ones. I think I might just stop saying 'liberals' and use 'the arrogantsia.' I say this as someone who regarded himself as a liberal his whole life and as recently as maybe eight to ten years ago, when the left finally went far enough off its nut that doing so was no longer tenable.

(Btw, I'm not sure if you get the American slang here. 'Not all that' = Really rather mediocre or substandard. 'Bit' = Premeditated and unserious joke aimed solely at making people laugh.)
