Hey man, the West isn't like some kind of hotel you can check into. In or out, dude. Commit and stay, or go.

Thanks, laowhy. No one else frames this stuff better and gives us the important details. So glad this is what you do with your time. ——Happy subscriber

Actually it will be highly disinflationary. Lower demand lowers prices. The end result will be massive reshoring and strengthening of Western economies.

Here, have another: Soviet commissar, explaining political systems to his young son: "Under capitalism, the inevitable result is the exploitation and abuse of man by his fellow man." "Under communism, the opposite is true."
4
Thanks for the Party point of view.

The sickest part of it all is that the NBA didn't have to do it to survive. (Even if they did it would be totally wrong.) It was greed. They're a total gold mine and they have a virtual world monopoly. Worst of the worst. They deserve intense consumer punishment. The Women's Tennis Assoc. is showing what integrity is.

That's how the algo works, and it's possible to manipulate it in this way. Good eye.

@draaronnice2804 First of all, the order Lepidoptera includes not just moths, but butterflies as well. So you tried to show off knowledge and fell flat on your face. Not impressed. Second, you were dumped several times? No! How can it be so? Someone like you, with a sparkling personality?

Chris Ward "You must be very, very old my friend to remember a ficticiously antiquated moment in history." What a weird thing to say. There is a subject called history. You've heard of it, of course? Through studying it, one can learn about things that happened before one was born.
3
@rubyy.7374 What do you think kindergarteners talk about all the time? Disney content. And the OC also said 'sociologist'. So, both potentially good for seeing into the situation.

@TubersAndPotatoes eBay is fine for used goods, don't worry about that. Just boycott Amazon—and Walmart as well. Those two should just merge and call themselves The China Store. I have never bought one thing from Amazon and I must say it makes me feel good.

The warning at the start wasn't really needed. Your story was personal but it wasn't over-the-top emotional, a case of embarrassing over-sharing, or too much information in a torrent of weeping. Kinda odd. Was it meant even 1% seriously or 100% in a kidding way?

Florida has mandated a once-a-year 45-minute school observance for Victims of Communism. Children are taught about how it came to pass that 100 million people in communist countries were put to death in various ways by their governments. Most were in China and most died by deliberate starvation. Millions also died in prison or death camps or were beaten to death in the streets. Every state and every country should have a program of such education and remembrance.

Thanks for the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson point of view.
2
You nailed it.
2
@ThatsMrPencilneck2U I'm sick of this moral equivalence nonsense. It isn't like supporting democracy dissidents is the same as trying to spread totalitarianism. How on earth can you spout such tripe? It's rather like saying the police are just as bad as the criminal gangs because both sides are armed and use violence.
2
@tom-was It's not. It threatens to become that, certainly. But it's too early to tell.
2
@peterseth3296 Thanks for your reply, but I know all there is to know about this subject. Still interesting to hear your point of view, though, and I don't disdain it.
2
@gabriellamclellan1102 I hope they go too, but it's nothing to do with age. You won't get dumber as you age, I can promise you that. But my mother always said "There's no fool like an old fool." That's true enough, and I think that's what you're seeing. Their replacements can be young or old, but they simply must be clever and wise for a change, and able to bring out the best in people via an authentic personality.
2
@jabom99 The US is creating millions of desperate poor people every year. So yeah, the coffee-maker factory will come along just in time and have plenty of grateful applicants. Not what the previous generations had in mind exactly, but it'll be an improvement over gangs, mobile homes, crystal meth, opioids, and homelessness. A couple of decades later you might have a healthy smooth-running country back.

From hell, you say? She looks very nice in the thumbnail. Appears agreeable, kind, intelligent, classy, etc.
2
You have made a major habit of click-baiting. Pretty soon I will be mad.
2
@darkcoeficient I felt the same way when he mentioned that. But C-Milk was still a youngster then. Newness and growth are more important and exciting to the young. He's maturing now.
2
Japan, Canada and Australia should all have nuclear weapons. Enough pussyfooting around.
2
Thanks for the Global Times point of view.

Matt, I strongly support your work on this channel but, sorry, your innuendo against Elon Musk is misguided. Dealing with foreign manipulation on X is not straightforwardly done. It is extremely complex and difficult. Foreign resources, like China's for example, are immense, and they're only one of the countries seeking to subvert X in various ways. The whole world is trying to game Western big social media. You need to give X some time.

Laowhy and Serpentza are highly skilled, talented, intelligent and experienced men who could easily be doing other high-paying high-status jobs. As it is they are doing a valuable service to people outside China, exposing its negative direction under the CCP. With such a huge number of followers, I'm sure they're well paid, which is great, since they're honest and outstanding guys.
2
Agreed. And that's exactly why it gets so many panicky anti-Western Commie-bot posts. I'm guessing a lot of them aren't even human beings. Dictators use Western social media as their toilet.
1
Zing! 😄
1
Certainly not.

I don't like it when you give us melodramatic titles, thumbnails and intros, and then add "That's what some people say"—and then you tell us it's all quite untrue. It's tedious and annoying and I wish you'd stop it. E.g. "China plans to vaporize Australia in 2023! One blogger wrote that last week. But it's obviously false." I otherwise really appreciate your great content. 🇹🇼🇺🇸🇦🇺🇨🇦🇮🇷🇬🇧 etc.

@spizzenergi2292 It was relinquished in the hope there could be a quick workaround for the 1973 recession. Nixon was shortsighted, just as he was with Watergate. And he was forced out. When will China force out the shortsighted Xi? Oh wait, it won't. He's the dictator.
1
Yeah, what an idiot. Imagine, not wanting to get married and then some years later marrying! Some people! What an accurately incisive comment! Can we have more, please?
1
Some people call them propellor-heads! lol Gentle ribbing, not an insult.
1
The title wasn't deceptive lying clickbait this time. Lovely.
1
I agree with every word of that. And it's retailers, too, who dance around the issue with zero openness. You look at something on their website and even in the detailed part of the description you aren't told the country of manufacture. It just says "Imported." Sorry, Amazon. Forget it.
1
Piatequila Well summed up. Needed to be said.
1
I don't buy that for a second. Elon Musk is passionately pro-Western. He operates in China like all the Western automakers do and follows local rules, but he has the integrity not to actively help the CCP. In fact Beijing doesn't trust Tesla not to transmit Tesla owners' data to the US, and for that reason Teslas are banned from many locations.
1
Oh, come off it. It's one thing to take a chance on your own and quite another to take a chance on hurting both yourself and someone else you care about. You didn't know that?
1
@technofeeliak Absurd talk, basically saying that Matt could be on China's side. 😂 I've never heard such a dumb thing in my life. Obvious CPC shill trying to undermine Matt ..... Busted, O Redder Than Red One.👎
1
@tilenHD It's in a cool location.
1
@bastricalex775 One or two million is still small, China or anywhere.
1
I thought "that wears me out" sounded very stylish on the lips of a Chinese woman.
1
Me too! It's satisfying and fun denying the criminal Xi regime my business. And I now own nicer stuff. In stores, ask a manager if they have the product from somewhere else, not China. They do care about customer preferences.
1
Thanks C-Milk. The Chinese government is the scariest institution in the world. Your work is really, really important.
1
@jaddaj5881 The answer to that is so obvious that I wouldn't be doing you a favour if I told you.
1
@brianm.595 I don't even know what you're on about. All I can say for sure is you didn't catch my point at all. It's all right though. From how you sound I'm guessing you're reasonable.
1
@FuriousImp Look up what someone in an extremely corrupt country claims Shell did, at the suggestion of some random leftoid 🤡on the internet? Oh yeah, I've got lots of time for something like that. I'll get right on it. Hey, shouldn't you be inventing genders somewhere?
1
@mirrorinsideout There's some truth to that, but perhaps you've yet to fully realize how rigid the young are. A great many of them want both society at large and the state to attack their opponents, silence them, fine them, prosecute them and so on, on their behalf. When, as I often do, I call the worse among them the New Puritans, I do not have any flexibility of theirs in mind.
1
@cd4429 I've enjoyed deep and gratifying personal relationships with Chinese people and find a lot to respect about their civilization, but sometimes the rhetoric about it and the praise (particularly the self-praise) gets to be far too much for me. They love to brag about 4,000 years of continuous recorded history, apparently lacking a painful awareness that with such a long streak they certainly ought not to remain so politically backward. China also remained until a mere 20 years ago very technologically and economically backward indeed, until finally they broke down and began copying or pirating Western achievements. And speaking of political backwardness, it's not even a native Chinese backwardness: their Marxism, too, is imported from the West. They would do well to send it back. I wish better things for them.
