That's 1/1000th the value of the supposed metal in the ground. Can you explain that? Bad vibe from this very loud, very nervous guy who never stops waving his hands.

  5.  @ttemp2631  A cartel is basically an oligopoly where they collude in anticompetitive ways. But oligopolies don't have to be cartels. They can compete viciously against one another. E.g. drug gangs, often.

  6. In time, depending on what happens, you could see the Model 3's price drift back down in that direction. Remember, that was its base price just two years ago. It went up sharply not because costs rose, at least not primarily. It went up because demand indicated they were letting it go for far too little. There are various competition- and production-related reasons they could potentially have to adjust the price back down, while still making a good mark-up.

  7. The Osborne effect is why they are going to spring it on the world suddenly. Few people seem to realize that—as you can tell from how so many continue to talk about how its debut is so very far away. They'll be doing that right up until Tesla announces it'll be available in three months or so. I don't doubt the company is busily planning and developing it now. Upon its introduction, the concern will then be Model 2 cannibalization of the more expensive models. They will therefore want the range of higher-priced, higher-margin vehicles, including the Cybertruck, to be solidly rolled out in all the major markets first, to try to cement their market position and reduce the potential for that.
