  1. Interesting and important story but I disliked the protracted, highly-emotional introduction. Especially the reaction shot of the reporter crying. I'm against reaction shots anyway, but a showy one like this one which intruded the reporter into the story is bad journalism. The wonderful movie Broadcast News (William Hurt, Albert Brooks) hinged on just such a teary reaction shot and its unethical nature.

  5. I think suspects might hear when the tracking dart hits and remove it soon afterward. Instead, maybe a patrol officer or helicopter pilot pursuing a suspect car could launch a drone, operated by an officer at a precinct station who can then track the vehicle visually. The drone could then fly home. Highway-speed drones are on the market.
