He recommends battling narcissistic traits by immersing oneself in the Golden Rule, being mindful of it 100% of the time. Also potentially helpful are traits one may have on the far side of malevolence, i.e. positive ones. They can be a base from which launch attacks on the dark traits.

  25. I look with deep suspicion on people who throw around accusations of narcissism intemperately and with overdone passion, even glee. I can't help thinking they're throwing up smokescreens to hide what they are from others, and themselves. In other words they doth protest too much.
