I have been unable to find sanction in dictionaries or other sources for pronouncing Taiwan to rhyme with 'I can' (whether in the US or UK). So will you please teach your robot to say it correctly? Tip: Do a search & replace of your script, swapping out Taiwan for tie-wan. The bot should take the cue and use the pronunciation of the word wan ('pale from exhaustion or illness').

Your point would be more intelligible if you used 'power elites' or 'big tech' instead of 'aristocrats.' It's not going to be English dukes or Spanish counts dangerously letting AI loose before it's wise to do so. And don't forget about state institutions such as research labs or militaries.

AI might or might not be or become evil, but whoever gave that neural net that creepy, oily, pimply, smiling woman's face is deffo evil. It/she makes me sick and angry.

Unplug the little buggers.

It already does, hard, compared with 25 years ago. You weren't around then were you? There were always great and low people and always will be, but the brilliant and beautiful people of solid character of that time, now rapidly going away, are scarcely at all being reconstituted amongst their replacements (who are in comparison dull, ignorant, homely or worse, and spectacularly childish and nasty). Harsh, yes; unbearable to hear perhaps; but the reality itself is harsh and there's no point in candy-coating it.

Voltaire, 1768: "If God did not exist, it would be necessary to invent him." Unwittingly prophetic. Whoever first achieves AGI will basically do just that, and thus have God at his disposal. (At least initially. Maybe only for seconds.) [Bonus comment] Dr. Victor Frankenstein, 2024: "All I did was reanimate a cadaver and I'm supposed to be some sort of madman? I mean, that was nothing. These weird people are creating God out of a heap of gizmos in some warehouse."

I see no reason to for concluding that the picture with Obama at the start was taken in a school. Not only are not all locker rooms in schools, but no one in the picture looks like a student. Sorry, bot, weak guess and a cocky one at that.

What about the world doing away with CFCs and saving the ozone layer? What about Western society sacrificing a lot to lower CO2 emissions, as it certainly has been doing? (Asia and the other parts of the world, not so much.) Always hesitate before misanthropizing. Misanthropy is a buzzsaw that rips through human happiness, and no one's so much as that of the misanthrope him/herself.

Probably interesting, but it doesn't cohere. Read back to yourself one word at a time and then edit, please.

That white marble statue knows how to swing it.

Nice try, Skynet. Nice try.

How does emotion enter into it? Emotion is an aspect of creatures running on instinct, neurotransmitters and hormones. No wetware, no emotions.

Great, you're convincing it.

[sigh] Good heavens that's poor English. Please just write comments in your native tongue and run them through a translator that uses AI. You've heard of it of course?

Rather than ignoring us like rocks, it'll likely treat us the way we treat shower mold or ants that come into the house.

Doesn't that make ignorant and stupid people the sanest? (They're not.)

The AI drone swarm of assassins has already been out there for maybe a decade. He's not letting any cats out of any bags.

@danielhicks1824 You're quite right, yet every additional person who hears them constitutes an additional theoretical risk. It reminds me of the epidemiologist who said that just because covid is already in a country, it doesn't mean it doesn't matter if infected people are landing at its airports. Each one of them can start a separate and additional chain of infection, sickness and deaths amounting to great numbers.

@edwardbietsch993 He never said any such thing. If you really do think he that did, at least attempt to prove it by providing your source. He's been quoted saying (obviously as a generalization) that in his experience the Chinese work harder than Americans. And I don't think many people would doubt him on that.

@johntoplis879 Yes, but did he make many of them up or didn't they come straight out of Stalin's playbook? Either way your point is well taken.

This video is an ad for the business named Brilliant. I find that puke-making.

To connive is to look the other way (when someone else is doing evil).

Like how humanity will end.

And what if it cuts road deaths from 1.3 million a year worldwide annually down to 130,000? Or 13,000?
