For anyone with an eye for human behaviour, alarm bells would've gone off when watching his interview after the truck fire. He spoke about being devastated, but everything else in his voice, demeanour and body language signalled pure relief if not actual happiness. It never surprises me when people who tick all the boxes of up-to-date liberal "virtue" turn out to be no good.

@MrHellsing76 No doubt that's a fair take. Still, focusing on their own lives should probably include addressing something that's about to send their grocery bills higher.

From this point onward, the rise in household food bills is effectively a shoplifting tax. Come to think of it, before any store of any company closes due to shoplifting they should try a shoplifting surcharge on every purchase. Who knows, it might work.

Why weren't people in the same community out in numbers to directly counter-protest the cheap messages being peddled at this event? Their complete silence is tacit agreement.

I'm not trying to take anything away from the case you made, but to be honest her remarks did sound menacing. However, it might come down to exactly what tone, volume, nuances of expression, stance and gesture she used. Perhaps it would've sounded totally harmless. It might have seemed clear to a reasonable listener that she was talking about a probability that other drivers—not her—might go wild with rage and violence.

What is "mass" incarceration anyway? You use that term to evoke things like 'mass murder.' Cunning rhetoric, but you can only use it because there's mass crime in the first place. And what does "doesn't work" mean? That it's not 100% effective? Nothing is. But the deterrence is still there. The crime spree going on since the reduction in imprisonment seems clear enough proof to me, as if any were needed. If you effectively legalize theft or any other crimes, you will get more of those crimes. Penalties matter, and if a convicted person has no money to pay a fine there's little alternative. Why not commit a crime if there's no penalty? You could easily also say that penalties for highway speeding "don't work" either, because speeding still occurs. But imagine if there were no penalty for speeding. And young teens still get alcohol despite the law against it, but imagine if it were legal to sell booze to them. Think, then post. (N.B. Repeating the woke claptrap that comes out of the degenerate universities does not count as thinking. Such nonsense is to thought what kryptonite was to Superman: anathema, poison, death.)

@sbkenn1 Yes, because of a deeply-rooted culture of criminality. In large and identifiable portions of the society crime is glorified, entrenched, respected. Face it. It's been there since not long after the Puritans and it's been stepping up in waves ever since. (Cf. Samuel Johnson: "Sir, they are a race of convicts." He meant Americans.) Lighter enforcement of laws, if it is ever to be even thinkable (and it likely will never be) awaits success in efforts to root out this culture entirely. I think that's obvious, and few in these communities are even close to realizing it. The music, the movies, the schools, the street corner culture, it's all soaked in it. The churches included: look no further than the preacher in this video, who said nothing against stealing. But you're determined to believe lighter punishments will help. Terrible.

Were you at that rally we watched in the video, counter-demonstrating and urging people to reject the message being peddled? No? Then you're not helping. People like you are actually the reigh cysts in the sense that you're deliberately worsening things for minorities. It's be great if you really were woke—if you woke up to the reality of what you are: extremely harmful.
