But new buildings are built in the centre of old cities. Look at New York,.London

I like this video as something different on architecture. You should follow up with the most disappointing skylines on cities with a population above 250,000.
15
A statue cannot be possed by a demon for one simple reason: Demons are not real.
14
The original White House was "remodeled" by the British in 1812.
10
You recognise some of these are not in the USA, so DOGE has no power. Also DOGE has no power over state ot local funds. Only federal funding?
9
Yes, very bland.

There are, most towns in democracies have votes for the town councils. If you don't like a decision then vote against those who made it.
7
Heard that joke about texas also.
6
Just to clarify for people: It doesn't matter if you like it or not. ALL ART IS SUBJECTIVE. How much it cost is irrelevant. Some of this art is crap, terrible, awful but it is still art
6
Thanks for doing my suggestion.

Sadly the sculpture garden in DC has been totally removed at present. But they will install something new soon.

Was in Notre Dame earliest this week (Mon, 03 Feb). It is stunning but not fully reopened. No access to the roof and some areas to rear are still being worked on. Also visited 5 others on the list.
4
DC's Metro is pretty good.
4
Blue Mosque in Istanbul would definitely fit this list.
4
Been up the Big Bem Tower (i know this is the name of the bell, not tower). Was there at 1200 to feel the "bongs" or chimes go through you.
3
Yes agreed.
3
@hjvjccc Because ALL art is subjective.
3
@BuildingTales 250,000 is a random amount, just to guarantee bigger cities. I am confident you will find some good options.
3
It is stunning.
3
@perceivedvelocity9914 And your factual evidence for this is where? What mindset is being changed? You do understand that ALL art is subjective? So what you see as "elitist" many others will enjoy.
3
Just a coincidence. Unless you have actual fact checked evidence otherwise?
2
@Hogtownboy1 Yes, the green line runs through the SE of DC like Anacostia, which is definitely a "black area". The Orange, Blue and Silver lines run though areas predominantly black. There is also a tram service from close to Union Station which covers latino and black areas. I have ridden on this.
2
@Hogtownboy1 To be fair the Metro does not run to the expensive white areas to east and NE of DC either. They are building a new Purple line. But am unsure of demographics of the areas it will connect.
2
Theyl turned Chernobyl into a tourist attraction. (Joke).
2
@Madeleine_des_Esseintes That is why you have democracy. You can vote out those who make decisions you don't like.
2
@hjvjccc I am not saying some of thie art is awful in my opinion. But like all music (personalityi hate country), or theatre, dance etc these sculptures are art, whether people on YouTube like them or not. Your point in a pile of garbage - Tracey Emin, a British artist, sold her unmade, untidy bedroom as art. I don't like it. But can still see how someone MIGHT think it is art.
2
@hjvjccc I agree with you on many poin. However, go back and reread your comments. You are giving your opinion on what you like or don't like. What you think is art or not. This is surely proving that all art is subjective. You are not stating a fact when you say "garbage glued together in a park" is not art. This just your opinion. Do I like it - No. Do I think it is a complete waste of money - yes. But it is still art. When I go to art galleries, I am utterly bored by classical religious scenes. I love the impressionists. A great deal of modern paintings by Rothko do nothing for me but it is still art. A child scribbling on paper that a parent pins to a wall is still art. As for the point on music v noise. Yoko Ono released an album of her screaming. I hate it, but is still music.

@LOLrigole Poems don't have to rhyme. There are no rules on this. I think he has confused poetry with rap music.
2
@TheRealDrJoey Soni should have a closed mind? Or perhaps develop skills and tastes to recognise that different people like different things.
2
@Oo-IIII-oO That is opinion, not fact. There is a huge difference.
2
@Colorado_Native When I visited in 2009 it was as part of an organised tourist visit with guides.
1
Went to the Donbass arena twice in 2012.
1
@hjvjccc Seems like you are saying some art is subjective but only the stuff I approve of. Edit: where are the rules that say poetry has to rhyme? You are just making your own rules up.

Read the pinned comment. This explains why

@robertmcnearny9222 OK, try the comment the channel creator responded to. It is about what the original No 9 was cut out.
1
@12344567ist Give your fact checked evidence and sources for your claims? Why don't you state what their original purpose was?
1
@12344567ist which book? Give a source and fact checked evidence for your claim?
1
@12344567ist You are clearly well read, so should be familiar with the phrase "extraordinary claims require extraordinary proof." So what are your sources? You are equating designs from 100's of years ago to modern theories. When modern designs are based on older buildings. Surely there would be evidence on ancient Hindu and Buddhist temples? Where is the evidence for the copper cables in each building?
1
@aj-gl3ri The continued refusal by those suggesting alternative theories to provide any sources and evidence is sadly all to predicable. As is often said "you can have your own opinions, but you can't have your own facts."
1
It is a really interesting idea. Good luck @jamesalinio5277
