they say darkweb marketplaces are pretty developed when it comes to a Russian market.

You should look for a kebab place, in most places it's known as a specific form of doner kebab ... it's actually pretty rare(at least in Europe) it's being known by it's Arabic name, shawarma, like in Russia.

I believe peso went from 3--->93 since 2003... rouble went 32--->75, other than that Russia it is pretty similar with the Latin America in many aspects.
2
Yeah you can buy cash dollars no problem that's what many Russians still do... btw Rouble devalued from RUB32 for 1 dollar in 2003 and now it's RUB75 for 1 dollar 18 years later...it's not that bad
2
With all due respect to Finland ...no, some kind of common economic and trade area ...maybe in 50-70 years LOL, but I doubt any political integration could happen between us and the EU.

If you work online what's the point of living in Russia(if you don't want to master the language)? The climate is Meh, yeah you can rent an apartment for $200 per month in some city like Pskov or Novgorod and survive paying another $200-300 for food but what's the point?
2
zytrik I dunno bro, I have lived in Czechia for like almost a year and I barely improved my language just because I work online and my everyday communication volume was very low(supermarkets etc) so if you want to improve your language you have to think how you gonna involve naturally in using the language without a local job...living in a country is not enough. P.S. why do you want to live close to Lithuania though ... yeah it's maybe cheap but it's kind of depressive. Try Sochi LOL.

In America liberal=left liberal(socialist)

First world? Russia has some services that are good enough for a 1st world country, but in general we are on the same level as Argentina, Brazil, Mexico, Turkey, Iran, Kazakhstan those kind of countries. Yes some things are significantly better but in general I would put Russia into this category.
1
It's a specific thing for St. Petersburg popular mostly among foreigners.
1
Many Russians keep their savings in USD you can freely buy or sell them but you can't pay in cash USD in Russia it's against the law, you have to change it to roubles first.
1
Are you from Argentina? Don't they in a "controlled devaluation mode" now...just wandering what was the reason the devaluation rate became controlled, I mean it's pretty unique it's a straight line...just wandering if the Russian Central Bank could do the same at some point.
1
TehArgento I mean the chart of USDARS became predictable since January 2020, I mean it's not a market price of Argentinian peso how they set the rate it loses basically the same value every week. What happened in January of 2020?
1
So if your lira is losing it's value against USD or EURO why my vacation in Turkey is priced higher in EURO now? LOL.

They are Putin puppets that sell Soviet nostalgia for the old generation...all legal "opposition" as just a part of the system targeting different voting groups. "Real communists" LOL, they just want a warm place they gonna bark when they told to you only hear them before the election.

Dude, if the West wanted Russia to become a "part of the family" they could do it easily in the 90's right after the collapse of the Soviet Union. Now they are sorta "not happy" with Putin and his "thieves" misbehaving dude you created Putin by mismanaging Russia relations in the 90's. The west has all the tools to make Russia a "bigger Poland" but they choose the same lazy ass deterrence strategy as they did against the Soviet Union. You can listen Vladimir Pozner if you want a deeper look on that perspective. BTW the West is still very welcoming and kind to a government related money from Russia when you see government crooks and their families use their money in the west but you, a common Russian see some restrictions against you...you become kinda angry. The west was never committed enough to become friends with the Russian people and force Russian elites to make their country "civilized". It was super easy to do in the 90's , now it's gonna be harder but I doubt the commitment is there.

Why they should treat people different if they don't resist? People did absolutely nothing to earn some respect from the government I would say I would treat people worse and worse as long as they don't show any signs of rebellion, it's a practical thing.
1
Jake Johansson I don't get what you trying to say here. I fully understand why the government doesn't respects their citizens, because they are NOT citizens the government being held responsible before in a competitive political environment. I would say Russian government CAREs about their citizens way more they actually deserve based on their citizen qualities. Russians are wonderful people in so many ways but they are NOTORIOUSLY BAD citizens.

What is a "western phone"? Huawei is not a western phone and it was pretty good until they got banned from the google store but Huawei sells its "not western phone" to Russia for dollars not Roubles , so if the USD/RUB value becomes 50% higher Huawei phones will become 50% more expensive in roubles.
1
Sure why not

I believe shawarma is a specific form of kebab, not a "typical" kebab. In Germany they call it yukka kebab or something like that.
1
How it's reported? Well Russia will impose the following sanctions: 1. Czech beer and knedliks imports will be banned 2. Skoda auto Russian owners will be executed by quartering, the families will be sent to Siberia 3. Russia will ban Russian souvenirs to be sold in the center of Prague 4. Russia will ban the use of the Russian language in Karlovy Vary 5. In worse case scenario we will take mr. Zeman back home to Moscow

No it's all bark no bite.

G. Dub Crimea was a different situation Ukraine was in a political crisis so you could annex it with no hustle plus most Russians considered Crimea's transfer to the Ukraine during the soviet time as "not legitimate". Now Russians don't want any hustle plus the regime itself is afraid to lose the sacred "stability" if something go wrong in a full scaled war. Putin likes the status quo(slow pace proxy/hybrid warfare). So all bark no bite.

In Russia when we say Europe we usually mean EU
1
Mám rád vlaky not sure about Norway, but U.K. is kinda viewed separately especially since the Brexit so in Russia(common speech) Europe=EU+Schengen countries
1
Mám rád vlaky Europe is a continent geographically, but in a common speech in different countries like Russia, United States or Brazil could mean different things. In Russia "I'm going to Europe" means "I'm going to EU/Schengen country", not "I'm going west of the Ural Mountains" so "Europe" primarily used in a political sense not geographical 95% of the time.

There are some India fans(people who visited this country and fell in love for some reason), people who didn't visit are usually neutral unless they are into some part of Indian -related culture (cuisine, yoga etc)...many Russians also generally avoid countries they consider "too crowded". Other than that Russians are usually neutral towards India as a country/politically.
1
zytrik I don't get how it benefits you in this case though, LOL,you can live in a Russian speaking EU city...like Riga, Latvia
1
Stan Torren it's really depends on a country. In America the general direction is from a small government to a big government so liberals(progressive)are viewed as a big government fans, though to be more appealing in the US they incorporated a lot of "personal freedoms" that "kinda" come with big government and economic freedoms' restrictions. Communism is traditionally viewed as a big government concept , at least in real life "transition to communism includes heavy government involvement", so they have that in common.

He's a boring hypocrite his early videos from UfA were OK but I don't know who's watching his boring Saint P. bs. with him sitting at the restaurants for hours with his relatives. He couldn't stay away from the politics and showed his political indoctrination.
1
Fire Wall It's a lie that Roman has never said anything good about Russia. He has a separate video with the pluses of Russia. For sure negativity sells but we have to ask ourselfves if it's really "a negativity" when an overall image of the Russian people improves. Sergey Baklykov openly criticized Bald and Bankrupt(then cowardly deleted his video) for showing "the ugly side of Russia" but in fact people see how warm kind and welcoming Russian people are and many wanted to visit Russia after his videos. Is it a "negativity"? People just don't want to see some boring BS like sitting in a good restaurant of Saint P. for hours, people want to see how people live harsh conditions but remain warm, welcoming and kind. Roman shows that some Russians (though kinda opossitionally indocrinated) still able to think outside of the "party line", which also improves the image of the Russian people that "you can't judge them as the same they could have different beliefs and attitude". I believe it's important to understand that every Russian person doesn't represent "the party line" so if a foreigner who doesnt support rUssian foreign policy sees a Russian person he assumes a person who could have different beliefs and attitude.
1
Fire Wall I don't agree that Roman and Bald and Bankrupt sell hate, you can easily look at the comment section under those videos and see that their viewers are feeling sympathy towards common people in general. Where is the hate they indoctrinate among their viewers ? Show me! Even those foreigners who live in so called "russophobic" countries like Poland and Lithuania see that you can "hate" Russia as a "political player" but there in no need to hate Russian individuals because they are different! Is it a negative?hell no! If I go to Poland and Lithuania I want to be treated as an individual not connected with my country's politics! So your assumption that they sell hate or negativity is very stupid. People want to see real life not glitz and glamour(there are a ton of video bloggers for that already). They show no despise toward common people , and the government has deserved every piece of shit we throw at them...everywhere...Russia ...America doesn't matter, we should have no mercy towards them, don't confuse showing government's mismanagement for an "insult" towards the country and the people, it's extremely stupid. If you have a pile of shit in the center of your city you should clean it up or demand your government to do this...don't blame a videoblogger filming that pile of shit because it actually increases a probability of that shit to get removed.
