  1. I have lived in the outskirts of Moscow for more than 10 years. I regularly walking late evenings and nights but I rarely see someone aggressive or even suspicious, sometimes I see drunk hipsters(very rare) but they are peaceful af. Young girls walking lonely 1:00AM and they don't look scared at all. Unfortunately gopniks those marvelous creatures are extinct in my neighborhood I have never seen one for a very long time.

  3. R John I think it's the same safety level as for whites, it was more dangerous in the past in some areas but it was many years ago, there a lot of asians everywhere so they are blended in. Black people stick out a bit, not a lot of them, but I see them almost every day, they don't have a bad reputation or something but you can experience some curious stares from people never saw a black person, mostly in non touristy areas, other than that I wouldn't expect any special treatment based on skin color, you can experience a lack of stranger smiles or some other cultural things like everyone else of any skin color.

  5. I would say Russia is still a major geopolitical player and not bad from a tactical standpoint....but it's inability to grow it's own economic elite that would view Russia as a safe place and ready to invest long term here really hurt Russia's future.

  6. Corey Ambrew Russian murder rate is not that straightforward, sure it's higher but in most cases it's not opportunistic street or gang violence but something like some drunks settling down their arguments or something, many of those it's something stupid not a street crime you cannot escape.

  7. Mahmut Kerem Biçer I have never been in Belgium, but I have been in Germany and Netherlands, France but never noticed something strange smiling wise much different from Moscow at least on eye contact with strangers
