  1. Not really, the whole concept of gopniks is to make a victim feel themselves so weak , having no dignity or self respect so they handle their valuables to the gopnik. Gopniks act more like a hardcore versions of high school bullies than someone who would do an armed robbery. Many of them would eventually do something like that though but it’s kinda a different “role”, gopniks role is to humiliate you , make you to give up your stuff without any direct physical threats directly linked to your unwillingness to give your stuff to them ”for couple of hours”, they either take your stuff from you without any violence(just by giving you some “hints” of violence)or beat you up without taking your stuff. That’s the point. They can do both but it’s not a classic gop-stop they got their name from.

  2. Gun for what?The self defence laws are fcked up in Russia. If you start shooting people before they like gonna try to stab you first you are in deep trouble with the law. Not to mention concealed carry weapons are basically outlawed for civilians. Anyway the classic gopniks are basically extinct at this point.

  3. Adidas from top to bottom is usually a stereotype. I’ve never understood the gangs in the us wearing different colors, gopniks wear the same dark colour tracksuits or something like that. I haven’t heard someone attracted police attention because he was wearing an adidas tracksuit with leather shoes or something like that damn a third of Russians could be wearing something like that.
