Don Konk 'em man you being too optimistic about Russia, Russian society is still pretty much a feudal society just in modern decorations , I mean in some aspect of society and capitalism development country lagging about 400+ years behind some pioneers like the Netherlands, don't get me wrong you can enjoy any product and service in most cases just like in the West but when you see the social structure , institutions, property rights etc. you see that it's basically a fake just because there were never enough of independent property and business owners as social class that will demand all those things naturally developed up to this day.

Tony Marselle that's correct, I'm a Russian and if you don't have special connections it's much better to be a foreigner in Russia than Russian citizen...up to this day.

B Whit Capitalism is broken only because government's intervention in it's ecosystem, Central Banks distorting the value of money etc.

B Whit Britain is still relevant just research where the majority of worlds financial assets are traded, Russian companies traded in London and Russian oligarchs and businessmen use British law and justice system because they don't trust their own. British were quick learners about the fact that your territory means nothing, it's all about who controls finances and trade.

B Whit so what, Russia was a powerful empire no one denies that, but if you compare it with the British Empire it developed extremely slowly when it comes to capitalism and institutions that's all I'm saying.

That's a shame because Russians are one the most creative and out of the box thinkers out there completely limited by their governance and society development.
