I personally believe they're alive, but stuck at the bottom of the ocean. A normal descent to Titanic takes 2-2½ hours, and communication was lost about 90 minutes after they launched. This suggests they descended too fast and landed hard (either on a piece of the wreckage or on the muddy ocean floor) and got stuck. As far as why they haven't communicated...maybe a hard landing damaged their communication equipment (?) I think, had there been any type of pressure leak, electrical failure, or fire the pilot would've been wise enough to abandon the expedition, dump the ballast and return immediately to the surface. A pressure leak (I would imagine) would be noticed and recognized pretty quickly. Unfortunately, even though they may be alive now...there's nothing that can be done to tow the submersible or bring it to the surface.

@stamboli6455 Yeah. This is the type of thing that will give me nightmares, just imagining I was inside that tiny little titanium capsule.

A normal descent to Titanic takes 2-2½ hours, and communication was lost about 90 to 105 minutes after they launched. This suggests they descended too fast and landed hard (either on a piece of the wreckage or on the muddy ocean floor) and are now stuck there. I believe they are all likely alive. Rolling Stone , CNN and other media outlets have reported that sonar aircraft picked up the sounds of banging or tapping from the area where the submersible launched. As far as the lack of pings since Sunday...I'm not sure. Maybe a hard touchdown damaged their electrical equipment while the vessel remained intact (?) 2:58 must be the only dude in the world to take a selfie with Titanic

@DR3ADER1 I guess we’ll see. Right now it doesn’t look good, and it looks even worse with each passing hour.

@DR3ADER1 calm down. When I said “we’ll see” , I meant along the lines of how long they’ll continue the search and rescue mission before calling it off, and whether they’ll even bother to attempt to scan the seabed for signs of the Titan after the 96-hour life support window has passed.
