  11. The teacher's union could've held these negotiations over the summer recess. Instead they waited until AFTER school started so they could make the city look bad when schools were shut down and students were forced to stay home. Pretty despicable strategy, basically using the kids as pawns.

These people could’ve held these negotiations over the summer recess; instead they deliberately waited until AFTER school started so they could make the city look bad when the students were forced to stay home.

People (particularly Leftist politicians) love to harp about how expensive housing and rents are, but they only focus on places like L.A. or San Francisco or NYC. How about St. Louis or Cincinnati or Fargo or Wichita or Tulsa? All VERY affordable places to live. And those last three have strong job markets to boot. I'm sorry but you're NOT entitled to live in a sunny warm place if you don't have the means.

  24.  @lionman3378  but we don't see the ENTIRE video and we don't know what led up to this. For all I know he could have been yelling, cursing, using profanity or even making threats. Typical of the media to edit out snippets to make this whole thing appear as racially motivated. I've learned in life that there are always two sides to every story, and it pays to get both of those sides before passing judgment. Everybody these days has a smartphone but people generally don't hit the "Record" button until things have reached a boiling point. So SOMETHING led up to this. On that note, it doesn't matter whether someone is a paying customer or not. Businesses have the right to refund someone's money, refuse them service and ask them to leave. It's happened to me too and I'm white, but I never screamed racism or checked to see if the owner was a person of color.

All of the poorest states and all of the states with the lowest teacher's salaries and lowest spending per pupil, are RED states. Even as you people on the right decry the welfare system yet most of the people in your own corners of the country are the ones most dependent on it. As you can tell, I really hate extremism and party politics.

  28. Airplanes are required to carry at least 45 minutes worth of extra fuel. So when the pilot declared he was 3 to 4 minutes away from "Bingo fuel", it meant he had 48-49 minutes' worth of fuel left. He had plenty of fuel to get to GFK airport (70 miles north). So my question is, does this count as an emergency? Does the pilot have the right to declare an emergency just so he can avoid diverting?

  39. @ZunamiRevert if you had watched the full body cam video (which you just admit you didn't) you would've seen that Floyd was already complaining about difficulty breathing BEFORE the cops took him out the car (which they only had to do because the drugs in his system were causing him to act so erratically and hysterically). That was the fetanyl kicking in, compressing his diagram and preventing his breathing. Fetanyl is a lethal, powerful drug 50 times more potent than heroin. Floyd had 11ng/mL of it in his system at autopsy, which is more than twice the fatal limit in humans. Floyd actually ASKED the cops if he could lie down, because he was having trouble breathing and thought it would help him.

  47.  @Xazavia  what are you talking about? (is ”Why are you so defensive?” just a random comeback you use?) You’ve posted like two or three comments now asking what was meant by “three years”. I don’t know why you’re unable to do the math. I’ll explain it one more time so there’s no more confusion: the pandemic started in early 2020. There were moratoriums on eviction (different states had different deadlines) so the OP (like many others including me) is asking why people who haven’t paid their rent in three years felt they were entitled to go on living somewhere for free.

  48. For most people unable to afford rent, it’s because they choose to stay in areas that are too expensive, whether it’s NYC or mild-weather places like SF, LA or Miami. There are plenty of affordable areas of the country but of course people will offer up a thousand different excuses for why they won’t relocate. And Leftists will defend them.

  50.  @mikeydluffy2718  I don’t see him running for re-election in 2024, as he would he 86 in 2028 when his second term would be ending. The Biden team was coy about this during his campaign because they did not want to focus any attention on the age issue which was already a disadvantage for him to begin with (Biden is four years older than Trump). I think he’s going to wait until at least 2023 before making an announcement along those lines.
