If this kid had been shot in the head from point-blank range, he wouldn’t even be here, and that old man would be scraping up pieces of brain from his front porch. What exactly happened? Did the old man shoot him with a BB gun or something?

@alfredindy8058 where does it say he was shot with a .22 round? Show me. I've looked in at least 20-30 different articles about this damn case. The media has everything from the kid's grade-point average to the musical instrument he plays, but they've said very little about his injuries, and nothing at all about the type of ammo used by the old man. .22 rounds like .22 LR, .22 Short or .22 WMR are pretty small and weak. If I'm a prosecutor I'm gonna have a hard time proving that the old man was out to kill.

@teresamarie7460 one of the old man's next-door neighbors noticed Yarl pull into the driveway and became alarmed because the old man had very few visitors at all, let alone any at night. The neighbor I think called police because he/she was used to seeing the house in darkness at that time of night (the old man was asleep every night by 8-8:30pm). According to Yarl's parents, Yarl forgot to bring his cell phone with him. This provides an important clue about what may have happened. Since Yarl he had no way of calling or texting his friends to say "Hey I'm here, come outside yo!" that means he probably started banging and pulling on the door to gain entry. That's probably what startled the old man. I'm not sure I believe Yarl's statement that he knocked once quietly and then waited a long time. That doesn't make sense. If he was sure it was the address, he would be impatient to see his friends. Something had to startle the old man and make him think he was being burglarized. Of course, all these race-baiters want you to think that he's a "MAGA white thupremathist racist fascist Trump thupporter" who went to bed hoping that he would be woken up in the middle of the night so he could shoot an intruder. "Oh Sean shut up, you're just a rathist!"

And that means both sides get a chance to tell their story, that is a bedrock principle of our justice system. The media are out to sabotage and destroy that principle every day. I am still waiting to hear the old man's side of the story. No matter whose side you are on, both plaintiff and defendant are entitled to give their version of events. That's Law School 101 stuff. The media know damn well that the old man is prohibited by court order (3:29) from talking to reporters, yet they continue to run the one-sided story in order to frame their narrative. @armp8051 the reason the old man’s attorney asked for a protective order is because allowing the general public to see evidence during the discovery phase could taint the jury pool and make it impossible for the old man to get a fair trial. A protective order seals those records. Clearly you’re the one who doesn’t know how these sort of things work.

@dotcom3015 it’s not for you to decide whether this was a “wrongful shooting” because the defense hasn’t even presented its case yet, and we haven’t even seen any of the (potentially) exculpatory evidence such as the video footage, which could strengthen the self-defense claim. The old man has entered a Not Guilty plea so that means he and/or his lawyer have determined that they have grounds to contest the accusations. So far, the only information we know about this entire case is what the media has been reporting to us from mouths of Ralph Yarl and his family. I know this may trouble you, but there are always two sides to every story and every accused person deserves a chance to tell their side. That is a bedrock principal of our justice system (which itself is based largely on English common law). And yet, we have a bunch of race-baiting idiots here who have a conniption fit when you even mention this. They’re all here saying ”What type of defense could there be?! What other side to the story is there?! There was no excuse for this! This was totally unjustified! The old man is RATHIST and you’re rathist for defending him!!” Blah Blah blah blah and I can guarantee you they’re all gonna threatened to riot unless the jury doesn’t return a verdict of Guilty of Premeditated Murder and unless the judge issues a life sentence. All these same people by the way, were perfectly fine with Breonna Taylor’s boyfriend (Kenneth Walker) shooting through a closed door at police officers, but now all of a sudden they think it’s cruel and heartless and illegal.
