  1. When you base your entire economy on tourism, you're going to get hit hard anytime there's even the mildest of recessions. When will Florida and Nevada ever learn?

  2.  @desertguy1362  it's not just pandemics. Whenever there is a recession, tourism is the first sector of the economy to take a hit because traveling is something people do only when they're fully employed and have lots of disposable income. Places like Las Vegas and Orlando always suffer the most whenever the economy takes a hit.

  3. B PAMERICA ”you wanna have entertainment when you feel like it” ...why are you assuming the original poster is a gambler? Because I don’t gamble either (in fact I hate gambling) so Las Vegas is a place I have no immediate desire to visit.
