My mother was a landlord. She was not "cold" or "greedy" unlike what many of you people think. Landlords have bills of their own to pay (mortgage, maintenance and utilities which some tenants take advantage of by not moderating water usage). Who should pay the landlord's bills Peggy? Tell us. ( "Well Sean I never said your mom was cold or greedy but most landlords are blah blah blah and many of them are very wealthy and they're racist and sexist and they take advantage of the elderly, and we should help the elderly by taking the money from Wall Street, yeah that's what we should do...and we should print more money and tax the rich because the rich are greedy and they don't pay their fair share..." )

@Yah-Izoa-Hakaboth no, renting is usually a better option. Gives you more flexibility to move if you need to, and also if something ever breaks, leaks or doesn’t work…it’s someone else’s responsibility to fix it. You never have to shovel snow, trim hedges nor do you have to worry about water bills.

@justice2011 first off, using an apostrophe doesn't make a noun plural. Second, you need to use an apostrophe after the word "landlord" to show possession. Unbelievable...you use an apostrophe where one doesn't belong and then you DON'T use one where one should be. You need to learn to spell and write properly if you want people to take you seriously. Anyways... What you Liberals fail to understand is that rent prices are determined by two things called "DEMAND" and "SUPPLY". Landlords charge rents based on what people are WILLING to pay for it. If they raise the price too high, nobody will rent it and the landlord will lose money each month that it sits empty. You are NOT entitled to dictate the price of a house or the cost of rent. If you can't afford to live in a place like NYC or San Francisco, then MOVE. Simple as that. I moved to North Dakota because I couldn't afford the high cost of rent in the northeast. You didn't see me whining to my landlord or demanding that they not be allowed to charge me above a certain amount. Also, if you're a good tenant who pays his rent on time and doesn't cause problems with the neighbors...any landlord will be happy to negotiate a price with you. My landlord was going to raise my rent to $875 but I offered $850 and they accepted, because I ALWAYS pay my rent on time. Landlords have bills too, you know. Duhhhh. But you Leftists automatically assume they're a bunch of filthy-rich greedy people who are out to price gouge people. "No you're wrong Sean, I'm not even a Liberal...and you're a rathist for saying that Sean...and you thupport Trump...raising rent is thyth-temically rathist Sean....because...because....ummm...white privilege...and....ummm....Black Lives Myehtter...yeah that's it. Haha Sean! I just destroyed you with my arguments!"

@OldskolFan funny how you suggest ABDC01 shouldn't make the assumption that landlords were getting stiffed on their rent during the pandemic, yet you have no problem making the assumption that greed is what drives landlords.
