  1. I have my phone set up to block any incoming calls without caller ID. But the scammers still can use spoofing devices, and it will often be from the same area code to entice the person to answer. Basically I don’t answer any call unless it’s from someone in my contact list - I let it go to voicemail. But that’s a catch-22 because then the spammers know that the number is an active and current number.
