But Rosenbaum did chase after Rittenhouse, and as Rittenhouse was attempting to flee another nearby bystander (for some unknown ridiculous reason) fired a gun into the air at that very moment. Since Rittenhouse had his back to Rosenbaum, he thought Rosenbaum was the one who was firing at him and wheeled around and fired at Rosenbaum. Legitimate self-defense.
