  1. The interest is NOT going to be enough to cover the shortfall! Florida's UI system has been woefully underfunded since the beginning.

  3. @USA STRONG hell yes! I've told you this before! There is NOT enough money to pay out all the claims in Florida's UI trust fund and DeSantis knows it! That's why they've been deliberately stalling to process all of the claims and also why DeSantis wants to prematurely open the state to force people back to work at risk to themselves.

  4.  @Havanorange  it's simple math! Florida employers pay the lowest payroll taxes in the country - only $50 per employee! How do you think unemployment insurance is funded? It's funded through a payroll tax on employers. The former governor Dick Scott was faced with a shortfall in the UI trust fund and instead of raising payroll taxes, he kept them artificially low and designed this atrocious system designed to make it very difficult if not impossible for unemployed people to claim benefits. Do some research. Does that answer your question?
