1:29 WHY is she apologizing when it's the PASSENGER's fault? He obviously left the gate area and was not present for boarding - he probably stepped outside security to smoke (though he'll never admit it).

@asmovoid it's hard for me to have much sympathy for something which was clearly his own fault, not the airline's. I hate to say this but some customers need to be told the truth even if that entails a reprimand. The airline worker's apologies serve no purpose except to allow the passenger to continue disavowing any responsibility for his own actions. He will not learn his lesson as a result of this incident and in the future he may even pull a similar stunt and then blame the airline once again.

@zesolodar I'm sorry Zach but "good customer service" doesn't mean lying and/or withholding important information just because we're afraid we're going to offend, worry or upset the customer. Sometimes people need to hear the inconvenient truth. And yes, I've worked in customer service too -- probably for many more years than you have. In fact, everybody has at some point or another. Very few jobs don't involve some level of customer interaction.

@NiechoSL thank you. You must have a hammer because you hit the nail right on the head.

@zesolodar well Zach looks like you're in the minority here. But you feel free to go through life with that silly "Minnesota nice" attitude and see how far it gets you dealing with difficult customers.

@BeccaHetrick there’s also these things called rules, regulations, protocol, common sense… Do you not have those abilities? 🤦🏻♂️ EDIT: I just read some of your other comments and you and I seem to be in agreement - you basically made all the same points I made. So I don’t know why you’re arguing.

8:22 "The airline tries to blame me for not being here on time? I don't think so!" ...she's right. Why can't the plane just sit at the gate all day waiting for late passengers to show up? What horrible customer service.

@craigrockwell3159 this is unfortunately what happens when companies worship the dollar and let customers believe they're always right, no matter what.
