I'm still wondering how the heck they're gonna get them out of there (assuming they're still alive, and I'm holding out hope that they are). No matter what the end result of this, after this I think there should be no more manned expeditions to the Titanic wreckage. That's it.

But the experts I've listened to have said that although there are hundreds of things that can go wrong, the hull's structural integrity is one of the submersible's strong points. My guess is they plopped down into the mud on the ocean floor after descending into the depths just a little too fast. I'll bet their ballast weight was slightly too heavy, either by accident or design (such as if Rush got cocky and wanted to descend faster). Thing is they lost communication about an hour and 45 minutes after they launched. It should've taken them at least 2 hours to reach the depth (13,500') where Titanic lays and then another while to actually make their way to the wreckage site via commands from the mother ship. So if the hull remained intact, 1 hour 45 minutes tells you they descended too fast.

  8. ​ @VisionThing  okay I see what you mean. But I meant if there were any sort of problems during the descent , not after reaching the seabed. Keep in mind how slowly it's descending. According to records of past dives, it takes 2-2½ hours to reach the depth where the Titanic lays (3800 metres). Averaging that, that is roughly 1.6 kph. Obviously if you've got a pressure leak at 200 metres (where the pressure is only 20 bar) you can get back to the surface safely.

  34.  @garymorris1856  you should all be aware that technically, resigning does not necessarily disqualify one from unemployment benefits. It depends on the circumstances leading up to the separation from the employer. Unemployment is for people who are out of work through no fault of their own. You could resign from a job and qualify for UI benefits if, for example, you resigned due to any type of exigent work conditions which the employer had failed to rectify. Examples might include: sexual harassment, a hostile work environment, or dangerous physical working conditions. Yes, this woman would most likely be disqualified from unemployment because she committed gross misconduct and it is on video. I just want people to understand that quitting per se, is not an automatic disqualifier.
