@headdown1 okay but your exact comment was “so glad I live in Canada”. I wouldn’t gloat eh? Canada’s rate of gun violence has been rising and it now has the third-highest rate of homicides by guns among populous high-income countries (#1 is the U.S. and #2 is Chile). In 2020, gun murders accounted for close to 40% of Canada’s 743 homicides, while more than 60% of gun-related violent crime in urban areas involved handguns (a statistic that idiots like Trudeau love to blame on guns entering the country from the U.S.) Now…I like Canada a lot, but…if you really want to live somewhere truly safe and free of guns, you’d have to live in Singapore. Singapore is safe not because of their gun control laws, because of their enforcement of those laws and their strong criminal justice system (something which Canada, like many large U.S. cities, does not have).
