  1. 9:06 Fargo-Winnipeg is almost exactly the same distance as Fargo-Minneapolis (both about 230 miles). However, the trip to Winnipeg will take MUCH longer than to Minneapolis, for two reasons: 1) traffic backups and formalities at the Canadian border, and 2) the speed limits along the Canadian portion of the route are much lower than in ND because there is no elevated highway directly from Emerson to Winnipeg, and there are several towns along the route which you have to mosey through. I've driven between Fargo and Winnipeg five times, and between Fargo and Minneapolis at least twenty times.
