So why the hell do people live there? It's hard for me to have much sympathy. If you can't afford to live somewhere, then MOVE. Simple as that.

@nytrini1ify @FakeReal007 no actually, it’s just millions of people deluding themselves into thinking they can afford it. The harsh reality is that New York City is a cold place if you’re not wealthy. $100K a year will just barely get you by there. You could have a much better quality of life on half that salary, if you lived in a place like Tulsa or Kansas City or Fargo or Cincinnati. But of course, people don’t want to live in those places. They would rather live in NYC instead and then whine and gripe about how expensive it is. People just don’t know how — or simply won’t — live within their means.

@zoeking95 that’s bull. Our ancestors crossed oceans in search of opportunity, and they did so at a time long before jet travel, or Internet, or FaceTime. Society has just become a bunch of wimps, and judging by your excuses it sounds like you’re in that category too
