But not every unhoused person is a drug addict. ...we know this. Many "homeless/unhoused" people are actually clean and sober people who sleep in cars and vans, (or couch surf), shower at the gym, and hold down full-time jobs. But when people talk about "homeless", I can guarantee you that 99.99% of the time they are referring to the bums who roam the streets (because they don't want to stay in shelters where drugs and alcohol and cigarettes are prohibited), sleep in trains, piss and poop on sidewalks, loiter and litter everywhere, aggressively panhandle and harass people for money, drink and shoot up in public, and go weeks without bathing. Why should they be made to suffer from lack of food? Nobody in this country is starving. The guy who panhandles in front of the store where I work makes at least $50 in four hours (tax-free). Unfortunately, he doesn't use all of that money for housing and food. I caught him just yesterday smoking.

If you expect us to tackle the homelessness issue, then we can start by knowing what caused it in the first place (hint: it's not "greedy landlords" or "thyth-temic rathism" or "inherent bias") Congrats. Thank you for outing yourself as another apologistic Leftist who enables these dysfunctional drugg addicts to sleep on trains and buses or in tents underneath freeway overpasses, instead of in mental hospitals where they belong getting treatment for their addictions. Speaking of "victim blaming", why don't you take a good hard look in the mirror snowflake. The blood of the innocent people who wind up being violently assaulted by some of these bums is on your hands. And you sure as hell don't care about the hardworking small business owners who have to put up with these slobs urinating and defecating in front of their businesses and harassing customers and shoplifting and vandalizing and destroying their property. Now cue the "Shut up Sean! You're just a MAGA white thupremathist rrrathist, how can you be inthenthitive to these poor opprethed people who have fallen on hard times and are thimply looking for bread and milk?"

@CherylLynn65 I didn't realize that becoming a drug addict was considered "down on one's luck". I've been homeless too (lived out of my car for a month, showered at the gym) but I never abused drugs.

@holyghostfire238 the people he's feeding aren't really "homeless", they're drug addicts who choose to ostracize themselves from their own families and refuse to stay in shelters, so they sleep in the streets. This is why these people come to these picnics and leave behind mountains of trash and used syringes. Why can't the guy just wait to get the permit? Or rent out a local function hall to serve these addicts. Very simple. What's the matter snowflake? Are you gonna call me a rrrrrathist now?
