The US state department had given out warnings to avoid that area because of cartel activity. ....as long as you are not caught up in drugggs (which I'm certain these guys were) cartels. do. not. target. tourists . They do not CARE about tourists. I'm tired of people ignoring the elephant in the room and this terrible drugg problem that we have in North America. Fetanyl overdoses are the leading cause of death for people aged 18-40. 700,000 overdose deaths since 2014 and people just want to turn the other cheek.
