  1. You're all forgetting that Vance is young and his political views have been evolving. It took him time but he's definitely become a dyed-in-the-wool conservative. Unlike Burgum or Rubio, he would help Trump in the electoral college (being from a swing state/swing region) and he brings military experience to the table. He balances the ticket geographically and in terms of age. He's basically what Quayle was to Bush but without Quayle's baggage.
