I read an analysis earlier today that the long-term consequences of what's going on in Ukraine is we're discovering just how weak and ineffective the US / NATO weapons systems are on a real battlefield. They are way too expensive and way too complicated and we lack the people to effectively use the systems. When you're banking on an integrated battlefield, if you lose any one of the parts of the integrated environment, all of the pieces fall apart.

  3. That's The logical compromise to be the basis of a settlement. It provides an obvious defensible border between the surviving Ukraine and the territory acquired by Russia. Another part of that is some sort of commitment that no offensive weapons will be left in the eastern part of Ukraine that have the potential to reach Russia.

In 1944 the Democrats replaced the vice presidential candidate of Henry Wallace with Harry Truman because they knew FDR was going to die soon, and that Henry Wallace would be a disaster as president, at least according to the people in the south. Since it's becoming more likely that the Republicans are going to self destruct, hopefully the Democrats come up with a competent replacement for Kamala Harris at the convention. 🤔
