  2. Ukraine is about 1,500 kilometers from West to East. It's the largest country in Europe, with the exception of Russia (just the European portion). Eastern Ukraine is well beyond the range of aircraft from Poland unless they do in-flight refueling. The only way NATO is going to win is for NATO to do the fighting, which means direct war with Russia. That would be a short victory.
