  1.  @ronaldkulas5748  I've had the same thought. Whether or not it was a plan, I think Turkey is going to come out the winner. To a large degree, the EU has been a competitor to the US, not necessarily an ally. They have developed their own alternative to GPS, and their own weapon systems and built a new SWIFT data center so the US cannot intercept the message traffic. The United States blocking the Nord stream 2 pipeline could reflect the United States thought Germany was getting too cozy with Russia.

  3. The EPA is forcing very special blends for pollution reasons, and there is limited capacity to produce those exotic gasoline mixtures. An executive order to allow imports of ordinary gasoline would immediately collapse these high prices.

  4. Russia's long-term plan is pretty clear. They're going to reverse the pipelines pushing natural gas to Europe, but instead biuild a relatively short pipeline connecting their Western gas resources with the pipeline to China, and ultimately through Mongolia, leaving the pipelines through Belarus and the Ukraine having no purpose. Nord stream one and or two could still deliver gas to Germany, but on Russia's terms.
