  2. The Canadian National railroad (CN) also just went out on strike. I hope they were not planning to use rail to move those Siemens compressors needed by gazprom. Canada is also a very important exporter of grain. It's great when a plan comes together.

  3. A lot of people lost track that the EU perceived itself to be competition for the United States, not an ally. That's why they went off and created their own GPS system and started building their own military aircraft since they didn't want to be dependent on the United States. When it came time for NATO to bomb Libya, the Norway Air Force was the only one that had enough planes capable of doing the job. The European built planes were either never finished or had no spare parts or were not compatible with the US made equipment. There is one country that manufactures its own equipment that's not dependent on either the United States, the EU or even Russia. That country is Turkey

  4.  @666millsy13  people in the media often gloss over the difference between a nuclear-powered submarine and a submarine carrying nuclear weapons. Nuclear powered submarines are pretty innocuous. It allows them to stay underwater for months at a time, where a diesel powered submarine has to surface to recharge its batteries - which makes them vulnerable to detection and attack. The worst case is the submarine winds up on the bottom of the ocean. Even if the containment vessel ruptured, the amount of radioactivity would be thoroughly diluted in the water. The oceans are huge.
