@jamesgrimm9121 Obviously Russia didn't have enogh forces in the north to force the Ukrainians to fall back from there. To avoid sacrifizing the Donbas offensive they used forces from the south, and why not? They are not needed there. I can't imagine the Ukrainians having enough forces to both attack in the north and south at the same time. And Russia has a lot of forces, but they are being using in the Donbas area.
