  12. The first 1. doesn't make any sense. Russia attacked first, therefore the Ukrainian attack is a mere counterattack. If a country starts a war with another country - guess what - both countries are involved in a war. It's defense, not offense agreements. Regarding 2., I think Putin could find ways to justify using nuclear weapons without Ukraine counterattacking. But it's unlikely anyway, here I agree with you. He wouldn't want to loose face in Russia and the pro-russian countries.

To avoid sacrifizing the Donbas offensive they used forces from the south, and why not? They are not needed there. I can't imagine the Ukrainians having enough forces to both attack in the north and south at the same time. And Russia has a lot of forces, but they are being using in the Donbas area.

Being a women and having female temper turned out to be predictors. What that actually means is that both being a women and having a female temperament increases the likelyhood that this person is woke. By how much? We have to read his paper to answer this (and to understand statistics). What that doesn't mean is that all women are woke. But now, there is the question: Why would these factors increase the likelyhood of being woke? Both these guys were trying to understand this in the video. They were not judging women, they were trying to do science. To be able to speak more fluently they didn't say "in general" in every sentence. That's why that sounded like generalizing. But don't worry, scientists understand how statistics work. Imagine asking the question, "why tend men to be right wing?" This would be the same type of question, not an attempt to generalize.

What we see, hear etc. is made up in our brain. This is a little bit off topic but it shows how complex the brain is: When we see something the information comes to our primary visual cortex. This is the first place, where visual information is processed. Than the signals go to different areas but on two paths. One path up (dorsal path) and one path down (ventral path). The up path is about „where“ and „how“. We need this kind of processing to see where something is in relationship to ourself and to interact with it. The down path is about„What“. We need this path to recognize objects. An early step of processing in this path is seeing lines. Later you can identify combinations of lines and texture and at the end of the path you know what this object is. People who have a damaged brain in this area cant identify objects. If they look at a phone, they wont be able to recognize what it is and they will not be able to draw what they see. I think its like taking the pixels of something that you see and mixing it. No lines, etc. No chance to see what it is. But they can still grab it because of the „Where“ or „how“ path. And if the other path is damaged its the other way. You have problems with interacting with objects, but you can see it clearly and identify it. Sorry, it was kinda very off topic. What I wanted to say with this is, is that visual (and auditory) perception is very very complicated. Its not just seeing something. The brain builds an illusion based on electric signals that it gets from the eyes. Somebody with Schizophrenia has this typical visual information processing happing in their brain, but without the real signals from the eyes. The brain just starts to process visual information based on … I dont know what … the subconsciousness? It feels the same as seeing normally, but what you see is not based on reality. I heared that people with Schiozophrenia cant differentiate between a real person and an illusion.

  30. I think that they want to make the northern front unpredictible by creating chaos everywhere, forcing the Russians to build a tight defense. Right now the Russian defense in the north is very minimalistic. The Russians are advancing steadily but relativly slow in the east, so it might become a pain in the ass to have to do the same thing in the north too, if Ukraine somehow manages to take more territory without a fight. Seems to be a attempt of offense is the best defense. High risk, high reward, let's see what happens. Ukraine risks by attacking the north, Russia risks by not commiting to a strong defense.

  86. The strategy in such wars is to have everywhere some basic defense while having additional (huge numbers of) troops at specifical places to attack. Russia prepared attacks in some places, Ukraine in some other places. If Russia would focus on having a strong defense everywhere they wouldn´t have any forces left to attack, the same goes for Ukraine. Both armies are trying to find weak points in the defense of the other side or they just brute force attacks with huge numbers.

"The impulse and crave" he talks about is the reward system's work and it's what you mean, it should be easier to controll then the physical withdraw at the beginning, especially after watching this video. Just watch the crave, the crave won't harm you, it will be a little bit annoying, later it won't be there. :) And someday it won't return.

  166.  @bogdanionescu4466  That's what I mean with high risk high reward. Maybe the Ukrainian leaderships thinks that this is the only chance. If it fails, Ukraine is loosing is anyways. Also, Ukraine could commit to defending Russian territory even if it means they would loose a lot of land. Holding Russian territory "hostage" might be more powerful in negotiations than having a few more cities in the east. But yeah, viking raids sound fitting.
