I would caution not to choose a truck, if you’re able to trade for something else, just bc trucks were not made with fuel efficiency in mind. I’ve been lucky to get 12 mpg out of any of the trucks I’ve owned, even the mini trucks.

I have the tools & mighty resourceful, I don’t mind helping someone do a build & if someone needs shelter quickly, I don’t mind volunteering 8 hours to a build. Do any of y’all know of a network that can aid in helping getting the connections? Tia I’m in south Texas, but hoping to be further west by next year.

Not much of that to worry about where they are.

I was floored a couple years ago… needed a 2’x3’ piece of plywood, & the local lumber yard found a leftover piece, cut it to size & gave it to me.

Don’t think they get much of either where they’re at.

@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 Just saying that it’s a possibility that they might could trade up for something more comfortable & with better gas mileage, since trucks have always been in high demand… at least where I’m from… all 5 trucks I’ve owned have paid for themselves.

After 70 years, it must not be an issue. What made you inquire?

It’s pretty dry in Southern California, otherwise, it would need the seams covered & several coats of high quality paint to last a year. Where I’m at, it would disintegrate in 2-3 months.

$300 for a days’ work, isn’t what I’d call “moderate”? Either I don’t charge enough or live in a way less expensive area.

Tiny Campers guy has detailed instructions on how-to builds. He’s an engineer, but his builds are simple & light weight. Did one on a new Ranger. Love the channel bc I love figuring stuff out & he has the resources to do all the stuff I’d want to try.

Shingles wouldn’t last if you’re gonna be driving & it would add weight, but definitely needs the ridges coved with aluminum or plastic seams to keep rain out. And caulking & lots of paint will help it last.

@gloriouslifeonwheels3621 Because both my devices are jacked up from the heat. Doesn’t take long for the phone to start doing random stuff, & that’s an aggravation I’m gonna have to do without.
